ABOUT US
BeingMe Scotland is a small social enterprise company operating out of Glasgow. Though only small, our aims are big. Our focus is to enable schools to measure and improve the well-being of their students.
A message from Forbes Hamilton, Director

Where I live in Glasgow is surrounded by areas of poverty and deprivation. The effects of this are all too easy to see in the people I meet. Young people across the UK report dissatisfaction with life, and when that is coupled with poverty, which has been linked to low aspirations and achievement, I can’t help but feel that we are failing our youth. I wanted to change that. I wanted to make a difference and with a history in business management and some experience and knowledge of schools, I began looking for a way to do this.
It is clear that schools are struggling with a growing crisis in pupils who have greater mental health issues than previous generations. Symptoms include increased anxiety and issues such as self-harm. When I speak to teachers they care deeply about their pupils but are not sure which need help or how to help them. BeingMe Scotland has developed an app, which answers the first dilemma (of who needs help), and a curriculum which answers the second (how to help).
Along the way, BeingMe Scotland has worked with some great names in the area of resilience and partnered with institutions in Canada, America and the UK. They have helped us to ensure that what we offer truly meets our goal of making a difference to young people. It has been a hard but exciting journey and not one we have undertaken alone, to read more about who else was involved please visit the “our partners” page.
